Storytelling

For those interested in local Indigenous tales and folklore.

For those interested in local Indigenous takes and folklore, we provide enriching storytelling experiences that will fill you with wonder and appreciation for the Anishinaabek people. Have you always been interested in local Indigenous tales and folklore? Do you know why we call North America Turtle Island? Have you ever wondered why the possum has a bald tail? Why is a strawberry shaped like a heart? Let us come and share our rich traditions of oral storytelling. We have stories for every topic and occasion. We can come to you, you can come sit by our night time fire, or we can meet you at a local place of interest. Just like all of our other services, storytelling is provided by local Odawa.

Reclaiming Who We Are—No Barrier Tour

This service is for Anishinaabek only

Native North Tours and Storytelling is committed to provide any Anishinaabek who requests a tour of our community for free. We believe that no Waganakising should ever have to pay to learn about their people. By providing an in-person or digital tour, our goal is to guide those who want to reclaim who we are as Waganakising Anishinaabe on our ancestors’ lands.
